Dark Nail Polish...Yay or Nay?

So, yes, it is the colder seasons. And you know what that means? It means you can pretty much feel comfortable wearing any kind of color of nail polish! The the reason I say this is because most people like to wear lighter, more neutral colors during the warmer seasons, I guess to get pumped for the light and warm weather. But I love, love, love playing around with other colors of nail polish. I love most colors except for bright yellow or black. Honestly, I feel like black is just plain gross. It's a sign of goth and insecurity, plus it also looks sort of messy. And as far as yellow goes, I just don't like that color on my nails...it seems most things that are yellow are pretty gross...lol. I hope I'm not offending anyone by saying this stuff, but most people I know agree with me!

So one of my new favorite nail polish colors is ""Lincoln Park After Dark" by OPI." Heres a picture of it:
I understand that some might think this color is considered "emo" or "dirty" or such, but I simply think it's a gorgeous color. So I really want people's opinions. This also seems to be a new trendy thing, but I also like to start my own trends sometimes. That being said, if you are someone who sets their own trends.. more power to you! When I was in eighth grade I would wear different earrings every day. Like a hoop in one ear and a feather earring in the other. Some of my friends started doing it too, but what they didn't know is that the only reason I did it was because my ears were pierced differently and when I wore matching earrings you could tell my ear holes were uneven. Anyways, to get back to the trend point, I really enjoy following the trends... but I also think dark nails really look good in fall and winter. Then I can wear bright colors in spring and summer :)
So I want everybody's opinions of weather or not you like this" Dark" color of nail polish!

Books For 2011 #1

I feel like I haven't written is such a long time! I've been so busy with school and such...but yeah I don't really have much else to say so I'll jump right into one of my favorite topics -- books!

So I've gathered together some books that look interesting to me, and I'm gonna try to set myself a goal to read all of them this year. Their not necessarily school books, or "hard-reading" books, (I already have enough of those!) but their more like, just fun books that I can use my imagination with.
The first one is called "Found In Translation" by Roger and Kristi Bruner.
Here's the description: "When Kim Hartlinger arrives late on a mission trip to Mexico and discovers that the mission location has changed and now she will be doing construction in a remote village without plumbing and electricity. She can rough it with her designer clothes, or turn around and head home. With no English speaking villagers, Spanish speaking team members, or any translators, Kim worries they will not be able to reach the heart of the villagers in just 14 days. Will Kim be able to touch the villagers' hearts with the Gospel? Or will her time in Mexico be up before she gets the chance?"

I don't know...but I thought it sounded kind of interesting.

So I decided I would just do a book every couple days, just to let y'all know the stuff I'm reading. -Hannah

Hair, hair, hair, and more hair...

So my hair has always been the really, really dark (almost black) color, and I've been seriously thinking about doing something different with it. I kind of want it to be lighter. Some people tell me I should do highlights. I just have never done anything with it before, and I don't want to do anything that I might regret. Like, what happens when I go get it colored, then my hair starts growing, then I have a head of half blonde and half brown? Oh, well, I guess at that point I would go and get it re-colored. Is that really such a good idea? I really want some insight from some people who have had this kind of experience with hair.

Now, there is also another option. There is this stuff called "Sun-In" (http://www.sun-in.com/) which, of course, your really only supposed to use while bathing in the sun. It turns you hair lighter with the use of heat. But some people have said that it works just as good with a hair dryer. So, I'm wondering if maybe I can naturally do it this way, without regretting much. But the problem I do have with this stuff is, if it's so wonderful, why hasn't everybody heard about it and used it? Most people I talk to have never even heard of it. I guess it's something I could just try. Heres my hair now:

Heres kind of what I would like:

...or if highlights:

Soooo what do you think???

TOP FIVE RANDOM FACTS + NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

So I've seen that this tag has been going around...basically it's just five totally random facts about me that most people may not know. Hope your interested!

1. I have this really, really weird habit of just glancing (raising my eyebrows) randomly. I'll just do it all the time...and I have no idea why! It's just so weird and everyone is always asking me why I do it!

2. I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE scary movies! I know, most people in this age are crazy about them. But, really, I've been scarred from previous violent movies, and now, every time that I watch one I usually experience dehja vu or have a nightmare later that night. So I've just decided to give them up once and for all.

3. I love writing music, poetry, songs, stories, scripts, speeches, or anything like that! I just feel like, especially when I'm writing music, I can truly express my emotions. I usually eventually end up adding chords to the lines. And also, I got a guitar for Christmas so I totally can't wait to start using that!

4. Another bad habit: chewing. I CANNOT STOP CHEWING ON MY HAIR! I usually have lip gloss on, and my hair usually gets stuck in it, and then my hair usually ends up in my mouth. Some say it's a nervous habit, but if that were true for me, I'm nervous all the time. I know that sounds a bit cliche, but it's true! I also have other bad chewing habits. Whenever I have headphones or earphones in my ears, I am always chewing on the black cord. Like, I've probably ruined like seven different sets of headphones. I know this one sounds a bit cheezy, but it's totally true!

5. I love decorating! I'm always trying to go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels or Pier 1 Imports, or just places like that so I can decorate my house or bedroom. I've actually been considering being an interior designer. I'm not sure why I like decorating...I guess I just feel more comfortable in my house if my house is clean and organized and decorated. I wouldn't say I'm OCD. In some ways I can be slightly OCD, depending on the situation, but, yeah I'm getting off topic! :)

My New Years Resolutions

I know this is totally late but I really wanted to make a post on it. I don't know why I haven't done it this year yet, but, I don't know why it really matters.

One of my biggest New Year's resolutions is trying to eat healthy. I've been showing a lot of symptoms of bad stomach bacteria or diabetes, but I can't help but wonder is maybe I should just start trying to eat healthier. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not overweight or like a big junk food fanatic. But, yeah, I think everyone's body could use a break from all of the horrible junky foods that the markets process these days. And I think that is a great New Year's resolution.

I don't know if you would nesiccarly call this a New Year's resolution, but I have decided to start saving up my money for some of the more expensive makeup that I've been wanting (MAC, Sephora, Coastal Scents, BHcosmetics, Almay, etc.) But I really feel like I want to experience more with makeup. I just enjoy using makeup and trying new techniques. As of right now, I don't have THAT much makeup, (okay, maybe I do,) but not the kinds that I like. Okay, now I'm probably sounding all selfish and stuff, but doesn't every girl have the right to experience? I think so.

Jeez, I should learn to condense my sentences! What a long blog! :)

My Latest Obsession: Taylor Swift

If any of you are Taylor Swift fans, you know how great of a writer she is. I just love how she expresses all of her emotions in her songs. She once said that listening to her music is a lot like reading her personal diary. I just think that is so cool! I can't stop listening to her new album, "Speak Now." I can't believe she wrote it without any co-writers, and only in two years! My favorites songs on the album are Enchanted, Mean, Back To December, and Long Live. It turns out I just got a new guitar for my birthday and I'm going to try to learn those songs on it! I'm sooo excited about that. I've already learned most of them on the piano, but I just feel like a guitar seems more fitting for her songs.
The other day, I decided to have a little fun with my makeup and do a makeover like the picture below:

It was definately very challenging, considering I don't have much experience with liquid eyeliner, plus the fake eyelashes, (Not to mention the blinding lipstick!) but I think it was a good experience. I would post a picture of my makeover, but my camera is broken! :/ How sad. I'm hoping to invest in a new one, but I really want an iPod Touch. Aha..as I was saying..yes, I'm done talking about the makeover now. Oh, yeah. I also tried to do my hair like hers (not like in this picture, but, you know how she usually has it done.) But I got it way to curly, and my hair was just a big poof-ball. Haha! So I'm not going to try that again!
On another note, I also loved Taylor's previous albums: "Taylor Swift" and "Fearless." Though I didn't start listening to her until after her Fearless album, I am obsessed with her songs now! On the first album I love the songs Picture to Burn, A Place In This World, Stay Beautiful, and Our Song. On Fearless I love You're Not Sorry, White Horse, Love Story, and Tell Me Why. I think the reason I love these songs so much is because I can really relate to them when it comes to my relationships. But isn't that what the songs were meant for? I mean, wasn't that her purpose of publishing them? So other people could relate? Maybe that's one of the reasons.
I also understand that there are tons of girls (and guys) who pretty much despise Taylor. There could be several reasons for this, but hardly are considered even remotely logical. Like most that I meet say that they just hate Taylor because she's a bad singer. Well, what the heck is that? Does an artist have to have an amazing voice in order for you to like them? I don't think the main focas of her music is her voice, but rather her song lyrics. There are so many troubled people out there just looking for someone to relate to, and they find a sense of comfort in songs like these. But I can understand if someone is really into rock and roll and metal-type music, for them to say they dislike Taylor. But unless she's done something totally wrong, there is no reason for you to say that you "hate" her! Okay, here I am, probably rambling. I guess that means it's time to end the blog now. (:

NEW SCHOOL

So, as some might know, I've been pretty much everywhere when it comes to types of schooling. I went to private, homeschool, co-op, back to homeschool, public, back to co-op, and now...an acadamy! It's mainly for homeschoolers, and doesn't have very many students involved. But I am at least remotely enjoying. The reason I use the word "remotely" is because I really, really miss my previous co-op. Though I went for only one semester, I made lots of friends and I just loved it. But now, the assigments are pretty tough, and just not the type I'm used to. So be praying for me in that area!

Where have I been?

Hey everyone! So sorry...I haven't been writing. I'm not even sure how many people read my posts, but I still like writing them! I guess it's kind of a way to express my thoughts and feelings freely. But isn't that what blogs are for?

So I've been meaning to upload some of my videos on Youtube (fluffyduffy21) but I really haven't gotten the chance. I mean, I've been studying for mid-terms and such, and, man, those videos take so long to upload! So I promise I'll try to get some on there asap.

So, lately I've been preparing for Christmas, which includes decorating, baking Christmas cookies, learning new piano hyms, and looking for all the new winter trends. Oh, and I also got a new room! I've been sharing with my 12 year old sister for as long as I can remember, but now I took the room downstairs (which used to be our storage room) and I've been trying to figure out what the room theme should be. I was thinking maybe painting the walls hot pink and a black and white comforter to match. I'm still not sure. I'm really liking the ones at PBteen, but, those can get kind of pricey.

I'm also looking for a makeup vanity. I haven't been able to find a nice, modern, cheep one. Most of the ones I like around over $200, and the cheaper ones are like really nasty old-lady ones (my apologies to all the old ladies who may be reading this!)

But, yes I can see that I'm rambling. If anybody has a good makeup vanity that they're willing to sell, please let me know by commenting!
